English as a Second Language [ESL]

Students for whom English is not their first language may receive individual or small group instruction in English.  Students are temporarily withdrawn from mainstream English classes for intensive English language support until such time as the ESL teacher recommends the transition back into the mainstream class. In some cases, the ESL teacher would also support the student with the acquisition of specific vocabulary required for the other subjects.
